Margaret's Big Day

Margaret had a very busy Thursday which included her first bath at home, some cuddle time with dad, and her first long period of play time.

Here is Margaret drying off after her first bath at home. This is her dad's favorite picture so far.

Here is Margaret cuddling and catching a few z's with her daddy. This may be her favorite position as she is becoming quite the Daddy's Little Girl.

Here is Margaret enjoying some quality play time as she chews on her dad's finger.

Mom had a great time taking the next two pictures of our beautiful little girl. We thought you all would enjoy them along with us.

Flowers for a Pretty Girl!

Margaret arrived home just as flowers were being delivered for her. She received the red roses from her friend Oscar, and the pink ones from her aunt, uncle, and cousins.

Homecoming!

We brought Margaret home from the hospital on Monday afternoon. She was not happy with being strapped into the car seat, but it didn't take her long to fall asleep on the way home. Of course, she did hold mom's hand for the entire ride!

Grandpa Grunow enjoyed a little more time holding his first granddaughter.

Margaret has been in her car seat a few more times since Monday, and she loves it now. Here she is after her first visit to the pediatrician.

Here is Margaret with her mom, and some close ups of Margaret asleep and awake.

Margaret's little feet fit so snug in mom's hand.

Margaret's First Two Days

Margaret's first two days have mainly consisted of being held, eating, sleeping, crying, and of course learning about the Notre Dame Fightin' Irish.

Here is a very happy and yet very tired Grandpa and Grammy Grunow holding Margaret Saturday morning a few hours after her birth. Margaret was very thrilled to meet her grandparents. As always, click on the pictures to bring them up by themselves in a larger format.

Here is a nice close up of Margaret as Aunt Sarah holds her and yes she does already have more hair than her daddy. She came out with a ton of thick brown hair just like her mom.

Here is another nice closeup of Margaret as a very proud Grandpa Gahagen had her in his death grip. What you can't see here is her already having Grandpa wrapped around her little finger.

And last but not least here is a very proud father teaching Margaret about all things Notre Dame. She is already learning about the Four Horsemen, Knute Rockne, the Golden Dome, and of course the Victory March. Her first words may very well be "Go Irish!"

And one more shower...

Our friends Amy, Brian, and Curtis gave us a very nice couples shower. It was really fun, and nice and low-key. It gave us a chance to really relax and enjoy the company and the celebration!

And the showers continue...

The May showers continued with a celebration with our Louisville and Southern Indiana friends over Memorial Day weekend. We also made the official big announcement: It's a girl! (Assuming, of course, that the ultrasound technician knew what she was doing...) Margaret's arrival is predicted to be July 18. We'll see how close she sticks to that, though!

Chris especially loves the giraffe -- Geoffry with a 'G'!

Margaret is being conditioned for a lifetime of Notre Dame loyalty already. Grandpa Dave has even set her up with an outfit for her first Gahagenville tailgate!
