Now that Margaret has had a few weeks of practice in her stationary car, she has tried out her mobile car! She loves it, and had a great time driving around the basement with daddy. She did have to take a break, though, so that she could watch the laundry tumbling in the washing machine for a while! (We have a front loader, so there is a window where you can see inside the machine.)

After Thanksgiving fun...
After our big turkey dinner on Thursday, we filled the rest of the holiday weekend with Christmas decorating, a wedding, and a day at the downs (Churchill Downs, that is). Margaret even picked a winning horse! (Daddy made the bet on the horse she pointed at in the program.)

Happy Halloween!
Margaret celebrated her very first halloween ladybug style! Grandma Cathy enjoyed singing to her about the Ladybug picnic (where they ran sack races and fell on their backs and fell on their faces).

Baptism Day
Here are some photos from Margaret's baptism. Her Godparents are Annie Grunow and Jim Harris. The gown she is wearing is a Murray family heirloom (68 years old!). Margaret is the 24th family member to wear the gown; other babies that have worn it include her mom, her Aunt Annie, and her Grandma Marilyn. Due to the delicacy of the baptisman gown, we changed her into a pretty white sundress for her party.

Two Months Old!
Margaret is two months old now! We can hardly believe it. She is doing well, and recently went for her two month check up and her first shots. Those weren't much fun, but she was good and didn't cry too much. The shots knocked her out, though, and she slept for most of the next two days. She is growing and gaining weight at a good pace: she is up to 22.25 inches long, and 12 lb, 9 oz!
We also visited the pediatric cardiologist this month. Her visit revealed that her heart murmur is caused by something called a "left ventricular false tendon". It basically means that there is an extra string of tissue across her left ventrical that causes the murmur as blood moves across it. The doctor said that it is not a big deal, and she should be just fine. Unrelated to the murmur, though, the cardiologist also identified a small hole in her heart. It is called a "patent foramen ovale". The doctor told me that this hole is normal and necessary before birth, and normally closes shortly after birth. Sometimes, though, it takes one to three years for the hole to close, and sometimes it never closes. I found some more information on this website, and apparently as many as 1/4 of the population is affected by this defect. We go back to the cardiologist in a year to be sure the hole is closing properly, so keep your fingers crossed and say some prayers that it does!
Baptism pictures will be coming soon, but until then we thought everyone would enjoy seeing Margaret's two month portraits. Enjoy!
